Wall of Ideas
In partnership with Breakhouse, Haligonia.ca & Kula Partners
For 4 Days: Better City Lab I helped coordinate and collect videos of Haligonians finishing the following sentences:

"What I love about Halifax is..."
"What this city needs is..."
"My big idea for Halifax is...."
"My pet peeve about Halifax is...."
"This city would be great if...."

We collected the voices and ideas of everyone from Farmers Market goers, to local homeless heros, to Mayor Peter Kelly, community justice workers, spoken word poets, students, bike couriers, friends and strangers, young and old.

These were then projected on a wall at each of the 4 Days events, where participants could use a mouse to click on the faces to reveal the sweet Haligonian sentiments.
In addition to helping collect videos for The Wall of Ideas, I also was privileged to have been voted as one of the 9 Social Entrepreneurs into the 4 Days idea-incubator.

From an initial pitch made about a province-wide Youth journalism website titled "Win-Win" I was eventually rewarded with free marketing/branding work from Extreme! along with some money donated by audience members won over by my elevator pitch. Throughout this incubator, I expanded my understanding of using business development models to further my desires to enrich my community & society, while making profit. I was also coached on the ins and outs of refining an elevator pitch, key elements of a proposal, given peer-to-peer and Dragons Den style advice.
It was all because of lovely Peter Wunsch, Joanne Macrae, and Rachel Derrah.
